We have our plans and God has His. We create inspiration boards and brag to others about what WE plan on doing in our lives. But how many of us actually stop and pray for guidance? How many of us ask for God to reveal the calling He has placed on our lives?
I’ve had a few selfish dreamer moments. “The Life & Times of Whitney P.” was written by God but I must admit I have tried to rewrite, cut, and paste the things I didn’t like with a life that was easier and more appealing. There have been moments of tribulation, trial, and error in my life and I have done what I can to catch and correct these moments. But those moments of correction were actually moments of error. You see I wanted to be in control at all times. If something was going wrong in my life I instantly became overwhelmed with fear and would run to wherever would provide me a solution… everywhere but on my knees with my head bowed. So often when things begin to go downhill we search for the easiest and quickest solution. Whether its Google, Wikipedia, or a phone call to a friend it’s very rarely that we turn to God for guidance. If while chasing our dreams we run into a brick wall we step back and run harder. But why make the journey harder? We often forget that God gave us these dreams. He gave these dreams along with the blueprint on how to achieve them.
Think of it this way… an architect uses a blueprint as his guide on how to build a structure. If he tries to go outside of the blueprints guidelines he runs the risk of building a weak structure that will eventually fall. God gave us the blueprint to follow not to take what we want and create the rest on our own. It may be hard and the journey may take days, months, or even years. But I rather take His results over mine.

I love it….
